Singing Time

So I thought I'd start posting my ideas on here that I'm doing for my new calling as Singing Time Chorister in Primary. A lot I'm finding from Pinterest, so that's a FABULOUS resource. Some I'm having to come up with my own. This next week I am going to be teaching "Have a Very Merry Christmas!" from the Primary Children's Songbook P.51. I decided to gather items that represented the different words of the songs and I'll wrap them up for the children to unwrap then stand up front with their item as we sing it. They won't be able to choose randomly this time since they've never heard the song before. So I will hand the item to them.
FIRST VERSE
1. Have a very merry Christmas! Scatter gladness ev'rywhere! (this was a difficult one, but I'll do little suns that they can "scatter" on the front of the floor...big enough that they're easy to pick up)
2. Sing the carols of the Christ child (a Christmas song book)
3. Let your neighbors know you care (a plate of cookies. When we're finished, I'll give them all a cookie)
SECOND VERSE
1. Have a most exciting Christmas! Ring a bell (a bell)
2. and trim a tree (a mini Christmas tree)
3. Stuff a stocking for a loved one (a stocking)
4. Hang the holly joyously (a holly wreath of some sort)
THIRD VERSE
1. Have a happy fam'ly Christmas (a family picture)
2. Gather all your loved ones near (a fireplace figurine, I have one from a dollhouse)
3. Talk about the Baby Jesus (baby Jesus from a nativity set)
4. Wrap your hearts in love this year. (a cardboard heart wrapped in wrapping paper)

72 Hour Kits FHE

A couple of weeks ago we started working on our 72 hour kits. They're slowly progressing. This one we made mini heaters. One of these days we're going to have a "emergency" and see if they work. =) Maybe when it warms up a LITTLE bit more than it is now.
And here's just a few pictures that I can't resist. =)

Appraisal finished

Our exciting news we have is our appraisal was yesterday morning. THANK YOU Dad, Mom, & Jacob for all your help. We could NOT have done it without you. Here's a few pictures of our mostly finished home all ready for inspection. We just have to wait for paperwork and hopefully all will go well and we'll close our loan this week.

Fun at the Zoo

BJ has a company picnic every year and we get to go the zoo! We had a great time!

Our Adventure

After BJ's company picnic we went to Arctic Circle for potty and ice cream before heading home. When BJ went back out to start the car, it wouldn't start. We called our mechanic friend, Jake Lewis, and he came and rescued us.
We walked to walmart just to kill time while we were waiting. =)

Ree and Logan

Here's my little Dancer Girl. She posed herself in this. =) She will perform the middle of May, but they had their pictures taken the other day. And I had to share this cute little thing!

Logan is getting to be quite the artist. If you haven't seen Phineas and Ferb, you should look them up and see just how good he did! (At least I thought so)

Potato Skins

Rachel and I were talking about hobbies and how I need to have one. Since I love food and and I love my sweetheart I thought "why not start a cooking-date night." So, this is the start of many.

We were going to make Cina-Buns....but I didn't look close enough at the 3 hour time frame needed to prep. Starting at 8:00 pm would have made those tasty morsels too sweet to eat at 11:00 p.m. So we opted for some cheesy bacon potato wedges. I guess that I don't pay attention to detail as we had to use baked potatoes....right. I was gong to wait around for an hour, Rachel does have a bun in the oven and we didn't want her to get feisty.

So with a little help from the microwave, buy-buy nutrients, we got them finished up. It was a lot of fun cooking with my sugar plum. Looking forward to a whole bunch more dates....and food.
